Madeleine
Award-winning presenter, filmmaker, comedian, podcaster and disability advocate Madeleine Stewart erupted onto the comedy scene over a decade ago, charming audiences with her signature sweet demeanour and razor-sharp wit and performing with the likes of Rove McManus, Adam Hills, Reuben Kaye. Maddie has performed at Sydney Comedy Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Fringe, Adelaide Fringe and Brisbane Comedy Festival.
In 2019 Madeleine created Australia’s first accessibility-focused comedy night, Crips & Creeps, which evolved in 2023 into a spin-off national tour titled Are You Pulling My Leg? and brought a fully-disabled lineup and accessible comedy night to regional towns all over the country.
In 2024 Madeleine was selected by the ABC to receive their International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) Storyteller Scholarship, which saw her create several key pieces of content for the ABC including her viral Instagram reel on marriage equality, which garnered over 4.4 million views and became one of the ABC’s highest performing social media content 2 years running.
Madeleine continues work with the ABC as a television presenter for Compass, with her debut episode ‘Intimate Access’ released May 2026.
This marks a significant milestone, as its the first time a content creator from the IDPWD program has been selected to present an episode of Nationally Broadcast television show.
Madeleine has also hosted and produced her own award-winning podcast, Em And Maddie Solve Your Problems, in addition to hosting the Love Without Limits podcast for the SBS and the Our Voices, Our Lives, Our Way podcast. She has also appeared as a guest on multiple podcasts, live panels and television programs.
Creative endeavours aside, Madeleine has won many awards and accolades, from the AMP Tomorrowmaker Award (2019) and the Stella Young Award (2024) for her disability advocacy work, multiple awards for her comedy shows, even winning ‘Best Documentary’ at the Australian Independent Film Festival 2022 for her short film Inspire Me, which explores the concept of toxic inspiration.
Madeleine is a refreshing and exciting voice to both the advocacy and comedy scenes, and there’s no chance of her slowing down any time soon.
